Assessment and Evaluation Policy

CLASS IV TO XII

Academic Assessments

  • Periodic Test 1 (May/July) with a focus on conceptual understanding and application of knowledge.
  • Half-Yearly Examination (September)-Covers syllabus from the first two quarters and includes analytical and competency-based questions.
  • Periodic Test 2 (December)- Covers the third quarter syllabus and emphasizes critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Annual Examination (End of Session)-Covers the full academic syllabus and is designed to assess learning outcomes as per NEP norms.

Scholastic & Co-Scholastic Evaluation

  • Notebook Maintenance-Regularity, timely homework completion, and presentation skills.
  • Subject Enrichment Activities includes project work, experiments, field visits, map work, speaking/listening activities, model making, and creative assignments.
  • Co-Scholastic Areas (Graded on a 5-point scale)
    • Life Skills: Decision making, problem-solving, interpersonal skills
    • Attitudes & Values: Respect, integrity, empathy
    • Art Integration: Visual and performing arts
    • Physical and Health Education: Participation in sports, yoga, fitness activities
  • Discipline (Graded on a 5-point scale)-Based on attendance, sincerity, behavior, and value system

General Rules for Assessment

  • Attendance: Minimum 75% attendance required in each term
  • Medical exemptions subject to discretion; absence beyond 20% not accepted
  • Assessment dates/timings are non-negotiable
  • Academic Integrity:Use of unfair means will result in zero marks
  • Progress Reports:Will not be released before the official declaration date
  • Promotion Criteria: Students must secure a passing grade in both scholastic and co-scholastic areas
  • Final decision on promotion rests with the Principal with compliance with the CBSE and State Government norms.
